    School Closure - Distance Learning

    NMUSD schools are currently closed.

    Our district will follow recommendations and continue with Distance Learning through the 2019/2020 school year and schools will not physically re-open until further notice.

    Support and Care Line: 714-424-5050

    Our district launched a Support and Care Line for NMUSD parents and students to get information and support for technology, mental health, student meal service, Distance Learning and instruction, enrollment and student records. Calls are returned within 24 business hours, as necessary. Learn more at the Family Resources Webpage

    Enrollment for 2020-21

    Due to the district office and school closures, pre-enrollment for the 2020-21 school year is currently on hold.  Please stand by for future information regarding enrollment for next year. Visit the NMUSD enrollment webpage for updates.

    School Site Council Meeting

    We will have a virtual School Site Council meeting on Wednesday, May 27 at 12:30 PM. If you would like to attend, please email Administrative Assistant Patricia Pham at ppham@nmusd.us for Zoom invite information. Please review agenda for the meeting.

    Chromebook Initiative

    As part of the 2018-2019 N-MUSD Chromebook Initiative in the CdM zone, each child in 5th and 6th grades at NCE will be issued a Chromebook to be used in class and taken home. Consent forms must be reviewed and completed by the parent and student in order for the Chromebook to be issued to the student. Please note that there are two separate consent forms - one for use during school hours and one for check-out to take the Chromebook home. Copies are also available in the school office. Students in all grades will use Chromebooks in school, and therefore must have a completed consent form for use during school hours on file with their teacher.

    Newport Coast Elementary

    About US

    Newport Coast Elementary School opened its doors on February 26, 2001 with 318 students and we currently have over 500 students for the 2019-20 school year.  The curriculum is based upon National, Common Core Standards decided upon by the State of California and the Newport-Mesa Unified School District.  The staff and community are especially proud of the recognition received by the California Department of Education as a 2018 California Distinguished School and a 2018 Exemplary Arts School.  We are also recognized as a California PBIS Platinum School.

    Excellence in a caring environment and student learning continues to be the focus for all decision making. The mission of our school is to see that all students learn at high levels.
